Bourne, Noll & Kenyon's Trusts and Estates practice
serves individuals, trust departments, executors, trustees and charitable
organizations in many ways:
- we provide estate planning advice for the effective disposition
of family wealth, in arrangements from the simple to the complex.
This may include preparation of wills using marital and credit shelter
trusts, disclaimers, irrevocable life insurance trusts and
generation-skipping arrangements
- our lawyers serve as executors and trustees and provide
legal support to other fiduciaries responsible for estate and
trust administration
- we provide counseling on the protection of the elderly
and their assets with durable powers of attorney, living wills,
grantor living trusts and guardianships
- we assist in the formation and administration of charitable
organizations and family foundations
- we represent executors, trustees and beneficiaries in litigated
matters
Our lawyers work closely together to integrate
the tax and dispositive planning necessary for estate and financial
plans. We also have considerable experience in the planning and documentation
of family giving programs, in the use of charitable trusts and gift
annuities and in leveraging asset valuation discounts by utilizing qualified
personal residence trusts, grantor retained interest trusts, family
limited partnerships and limited liability companies.
We also work with private banking and trust departments of the firm’s
financial institution clients and have extensive experience in providing
legal support to those clients in developing new products and services.
